Locking partner outside a terrible revenge strategy

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: I accidentally locked myself out of the house again, and my wife let me stay out there in the cold for half an hour until she let me in. When I finally got in, I grabbed her jacket and pushed her and it outside on the step and left her out there for 15 minutes to teach her a lesson back.

When she got in, she started to pack, and by the end of that she had me crying. I love her so much, but she’s actually a real (witch) to me. What should I do? She’s at her girlfriend’s place and I want her back.

Dear Going Through Hell: Before you do anything, go see a relationship counsellor by yourself at least three times close together. At the first session, get everything out — the history, the behaviours, how you affect each other and family backgrounds. The second time start working on the problems, and the third time on possible solutions. She may come home before you’re finished, or she may never move back. But go anyway because there’s a real problem being in love with a punitive witch. How would you like her to be the cruel mother of your unborn children? If you decide to try getting back together, then go together to the counsellor to learn fair fighting rules and better ways of working out problems.
