Hey there, time traveller!

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: Tonight, I ate so much I could hardly move and so did my husband. Then he said, “We are really fat.” We are both morbidly obese. We love each other. Why did we do this to ourselves? I’m so fat, my doctor told me recently I shouldn’t get pregnant. I don’t know what we should do. We don’t even have sex anymore because. We have a computer-based home business that does well, but it just involves sitting. We don’t move around much. I am obsessed by why we did this.
— Confused, Obese and Ashamed, Winnipeg
Dear Confused, Obese and Ashamed: The first line of your letter concerns me the most — that you ate so much you could hardly move. Why are you stuffing yourselves? What is the hole you’re trying to fill or the thing you’re trying to suppress? You mention not being able to have a baby because you are dangerously overweight. Is there an issue about having babies and family? Other things you are trying to forget? These problems could best be brought out by a psychologist, and probably the greatest of them on the first visit.
