Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: My lady friend is 75 and lives down the street. She keeps an eye on me because she lives on the opposite side and can see my property. I have to use the back exit from my garage to slip out without her knowing. At first I thought it was great to have a girlfriend, after my wife died and left me so lonely. But now, I'm being watched all the time and keep my window curtains closed. She even knows when I've stayed up late by looking for my lights on.

But now, I’m being watched all the time and keep my window curtains closed. She even knows when I’ve stayed up late by looking for my lights on.

We go out every Saturday night and catch a movie or live music. She’s fun then, although she talks too much, but then we go back to my place for some adult fun. She goes home the next morning, after a nice big breakfast and coffee. Isn’t that enough? Frankly, that’s as much as I want to see her. How can I tell her that there’s a limit on how much snooping and contact with her I can take, and she’s exceeding her limit? I would like to be free to meet with other women I meet on The Internet, too, but she’s watching my every move.

Dear Ungrateful Man: It’s time you told her, as nicely as possible, just how ungrateful you truly are. Let her know you’d like to see other people and you want her to stop spying on you. That should do the trick. She needs to know you two are not in a real romantic relationship, except for the Saturday night date. You can expect that adult fun stuff to come to a halt. Make sure your new online women know you’re just looking to be a Saturday night man and you’re dating around. Good luck with that! At least you won’t be leading anybody on anymore.
