Hey there, time traveller!
This article was published 26/01/2016 (3873 days ago), so information in it may no longer be current.
Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: You said to the university guy (Everything About to Crumble), who’s trading sex with lonely ladies for money to help pay his tuition: “What you are doing is the definition of prostitution.” I disagree with your answer. This gentleman is providing a positive service to these ladies. Do you even know how lonely the ladies probably are? You will say you do, but I don’t think so. I know older ladies, and they are lonely and would love the company of this gentleman.
As for his getting caught, it won’t happen. They won’t tell anyone who will affect him. Also, if he is smart and doesn’t tell anyone, he will do well in medicine. What he is doing will have no bearing on his future. I wish him the best.
— A Man’s Opinion, Manitoba
Dear A Man’s Opinion: It’s interesting that a young man or woman can have a sugar daddy or a sugar mama, but they usually present as a couple, on the one hand causing tongues to wag because of the age difference, but legitimizing the arrangement for other old-fashioned people. In that situation, the older person with money can give him or her cash or credit cards as gifts.
These lonely middle-aged ladies we are speaking of just want a regular sexy hour’s visit in exchange for money to support the young man so he can go to university and have time to study — no strings attached and no pretending to be a couple. But remember: he did hustle the first lady by cruising bars to find someone who would go for the setup so he wouldn’t need a part-time job to pay his rent and bills. I am interested in hearing other people’s views about this situation. Do you approve or not, and why? Please write in, using the addresses at the bottom of the column.
