Hey there, time traveller!

Dear Miss Lonelyhearts: My boyfriend is a Sagittarius and he travels obsessively, which is a Sag trait. I’m more of a homebody. This is becoming a big problem. Since I met him in May he has taken trips to New York City with a buddy, to Churchill to see the polar bears, to Ireland with me for two weeks, and now he’s talking about going away for Christmas and New Year’s to the Caribbean. I don’t want to go away again so soon and I don’t want to be away from home at Christmas, either.
He has lots of money, so he just said, “I’ll pay!” I said, “You don’t get it. I want to be home and share this beautiful time of the year with friends and family. He said, shocked, “Instead of going somewhere with me, and for free?” I heard my body give a big, sad sigh. I love him, but how could this possibly work? — At The Crossroads, St. Vital
Dear Crossroads: You have seen exactly how this works out. You two are not going to change, and though you’re attracted, it’s a mismatch. Sometimes people who are different from each other are great complements. But, a person who loves to be on the move paired with a homebody means a lot of disappointment. Do you want to be at home alone a lot? Does he want to be kept down on the ground? What if you have a family? For you that would mean settling down. For him it’d mean buying more plane tickets. If you try to convince him to stay on the ground, you will be a big drag on his life. What a miserable role to play!
